Cheyenne Degeer began playing hockey for the Highland Storm as a 3 year-old. Excelling within every age group on the boys’ teams, the young Tory Hill athlete played for the AAA Central Ontario Wolves before moving to girls’ hockey, leading the Peterborough Ice Kats to provincial gold in 2022. Over the past two seasons, Cheyenne skated for the U22 Central York Junior Panthers, performing as the team’s leading scorer this past season. Her exceptional two-way play has been noticed by hockey scouts in both Canada and the United States. Cheyenne represented Team Ontario at the Canadian National U18 championships last November.
The HHSS grade 11 student from Tory Hill has accepted a Division 1 Scholarship to play hockey at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York beginning in 2025. Cheyenne hopes to study business or engineering while continuing to strive to one day play for Canada in International hockey competitions.
