The 2024 Induction Ceremony was held on May 25th at the A.J. LaRue Community Centre in Haliburton. Attended by over 400 community members, family and friends, the event celebrated the induction of 6 athletes, 4 builders, and 1 team as well as the introduction of a new category – Outstanding Achievement awarded to the Haliburton County Red Wolves. The Hall of Fame also introduced a new award, The Rising Star, to recognize up and coming young athletes.
We engaged Brad Brown of Upside Brown to produce a video for each of the
inductees to celebrate their lives and many contributions to sport. We are thrilled
with the results.
Enjoy reading about our new inductees and watching their videos in the Inductees section of this website. Our thanks to the many donors and volunteers who made this possible and the Municipality of Dysart et al arena staff who give such wonderful support for the Hall of Fame.

After nearly 4 years of planning and two delays due to the Covid outbreak, the inaugural ceremony was held on Saturday, June 18, 2022. The first group of inductees included 11 athletes, 3 builders and 3 teams. You can see all of their profiles and videos on this web site.

When the inductees were contacted about being recognized in this way we were overwhelmed by their enthusiasm and interest in participating. It soon became clear that we should expect great involvement and a large crowd. This knowledge led us to seek out the most appropriate venue and we settled on the AJ LaRue Arena. This proved to be an excellent location. There was lots of space for the inductees along with their families as well as members of the general public who were encouraged to come out and participate. In all we had more than 300 people attend and we were thrilled with the turnout.
With the large number of inductees in our first class we decided to produce video’s that would celebrate their lives and many contributions to sport. We engaged Brad Brown of Upside Brown to do the videos and he did an excellent job. You can view the videos on this site. Each inductee came forward during the ceremony to receive their award which was presented by someone who had been special to them during their lives.
Following the ceremony in the arena the inductees and their families were invited to the Legion for a reception.
The goal of the committee was to give the inductees and their families the special experience that they so richly deserved. We believe that this goal was accomplished.
